The Countdown To Abu Dhabi's Ferrari World Has Begun

The countdown to one of the most world's most anticipated theme parks has begun - In 98 days on October 28th, 2010, Abu Dhabi's Yas Island will be home to the world's first Ferrari theme park and, just like the car, it promises to be fast and furious!

Featuring more than 20 rides, the indoor park will be covered with a 200,000 sq. meter red roof, modeled after the side profile of a Ferrari GT. If you think that is exciting, wait till you hear about the park itself.

In keeping with the spirit of the car, Ferrari World will feature two roller coasters - Formula Rossa, the world's fastest roller coaster, which promises to take riders from 0 to 240 km/h in just five seconds.

Then there will be the Ferrari GT Rollercoaster, where the riders will board a Ferrari F430 Spider (but of course) and zip off on a two kilometer ride at a speed of 95 km/h - sounds boring? Here's the twist. Unlike conventional roller coasters, this one will feature two cars that sit side by side and race each other throughout the course - Now how's that for a cool ride!

The Junior Grand Prix, will allow budding F1 drivers to practice their skills on a racetrack behind the wheels of scaled down versions of Ferrari F1 racers. And there's more. A carousel where riders will be riding aboard never been seen before concept Ferrari cars and G-Force, an exciting tower ride where the thrill-seekers will shoot 62 meters in the air, through the red roof and then dive down back to earth again - all in an attempt to experience the G-Force of a Ferrari in a seat inspired by Ferrari Enzo himself!
