With so many world-class designers flaunting their creativity especially on a runaway like Paris, it is tough for any one to really stand out. However, at this year's fashion week, which took place from Sept. 30th - Oct 3rd, one designer managed to do just that with his collection that shone - Literally!
32-year old award-winning Taiwanese designer Johan Ku showcased his incredible talent again, by mesmerizing the audience with his new glow-in-the dark clothing. Dubbed 'Two Faces', the collection of elegant dresses, shirts and pants, which were part of his Spring/ Summer collection, appear a very subdued white and beige during the day. However, as soon as the sun sets and the skies go dark, they emit magical green and blue hues that are guaranteed to light up any room the wearer walks into.
To create these luminous designs, the 32-year old worked with local Taiwanese companies and came up with a new blended material, by combining artificial fibers with natural materials like linen and bamboo.
This is not the first time this innovative designer has won accolades for his creativity. In 2009, he walked away with the prestigious Avant-Garde Style Award of Gen-Art Style at New York's Fashion Week for his amazing chunky knit collection, dubbed 'Emotional Sculpture'. We wonder what he will think up of next!
