J.K. Rowling Unveils 'Pottermore'

Here is some good news for all you fans of the young wizard who are worried that 'It will all end on July 15', when the movie sequel of the last book - Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, hits the big screen. According to J.K. Rowling, there is more - Pottermore to be more precise, an interactive website that promises to keep fans both young and old, as engaged as they have been, with the book series.

Ms. Rowling says that amongst other things, Pottermore will contain some additional material that never made it into the books, allow fans to become part of the stories, which among other things will include asking the sorting hat to pick a house or riding aboard the Hogwarts Express to look for treasures like digital magical beans and spell cards. In addition to that, fans will also be able to interact about what character they are in the book, and 'visit' each other. This is also the first time readers will be given the opportunity to buy the book series in digital form and download it on to their iPad, Nook or Kindle.

Though the free website will not be officially launched until October, a million lucky fans will be able to check it out as early as July 31st (Harry Potter's birthday). They will not only have the opportunity to participate in an online treasure hunt for a magical quill, but also, give feedback on the site. To be part of this elite group all you have to do, is submit your e-mail address on Pottermore.com.

While Ms. Rowling crushed all rumors about another book relating to the young wizard, she did hint about publishing a Harry Potter encyclopedia in the near future - proceeds of which will be donated to charity.
