When charities are trying to raise money, they usually do it with mundane things like selling raffles, holding auctions or having bake sales - But not two New Zealand residents, who lived up to their life's motto of 'living more awesome' by constructing the world's longest and muddiest water slide - A 650 meter (2,132 feet) monster - All to raise awareness and funds for people suffering from depression.
The best part is that Jimi Hunt and Dan Drupstee did not spend millions, nor bring in a massive construction crew to pour concrete, but instead, built the slide by carving up a steep slope inside a private cattle grazing ranch located outside Auckland, using an excavator and two shovels.
The only downside to this of course, is that the luge-trench style slide that also featured a tunnel, was not permanent. In fact, it only remained open for two days during the weekend of February 23rd as part of a festival, after which the hole was filled up and the field, handed back to the rightful owners - The cud chewing cattle!
