At the beginning of her middle school year, Katie Brown's best friend since birth Callie Wilson left her for the popular girls. Deserted and shocked, Katie could only describe her feelings as relieved and thankful when she quickly befriended Mia Velaz-Cruz, Alexis Becker, and Emma Taylor. Together, they formed the Cupcake Club, a real business for making cupcakes. So when the school fundraiser event comes up, the Cupcakers are in it to win it! Katie is excited, but when she realizes Callie and the Popular Girls Club are competing head-to-head with them by making cupcakes as well, she's enraged and anxious. The Cupcake War is on! A sweet and fun book about real-life changes, Coco Simon paints a beautiful tapestry of words for eager readers.
