The struggles of being a little kid! The excitement of a new school year! All this is described within Ramona Quimby, age 8. This book tells you about what Ramona faces throughout the year, whether being sick during school, or just getting through school overall! This is one of my personal favorites from when I was a little kid, and still today.

What is the hardest part of being eight? Ramona Quimby has an idea. Ramona is the main character in Ramona Quimby, Age 8. This story was written by Beverly Cleary in 1981. This book was very well written and is funny and will make you laugh out loud. Ramona is a third grader who lives with her parents and sister. As she is getting older, she wants to be more responsible and help her family. But sometimes she has a hard time, like when she has to play with toddler Willa Jean, when she complains about dinner, and when she throws up in school. Even though she isn’t always perfect, Ramona tries hard to show her family that she can be responsible. In the end, the Quimby family enjoys their time together and all love and appreciate Ramona. The characters in Ramona Quimby, Age 8 are all different but entertaining. Ramona, the main character, is caring and a worrier. She worries about being well behaved for her family and worries about her teacher liking her. For example, when she throws up at school, she worries that her teacher will think she is a nuisance and that her mom will lose her job. Ramona caring about others makes her likeable. While reading, I want her to be happy and do her best. Beezus is Ramona’s sister. She is a preteen, so she can sometimes be grump, but you can tell she loves her sister and her family.
This is a good book about a girl named Ramona who has a nice adventure that is brought to life by Cleary. Ramona grows up, and is looking forward to enjoying her grade. Things are nice in the school bus, but Beverly Cleary takes Ramona on an adventure facing a bully, smearing egg yolk over her hair, and many other things that make this book likable. It is a good book that has nice plots and good imagination.
