This book is very sad at the end. It is about a girl named Fern who loved animals. When she realises that her dad was going to kill the small piglet, Fern stopped her father from killing the piglet so she took care of the piglet and called it Wilbur. Then they meet a kind spider named Charlotte. She weaved a spider web that says some pig.

Fern is a special girl with a love for animals who lives on a farm. One day, Fern sees her father going to the pigpen with a weapon. Right away, she knows that her father was about to kill the smallest pig! She jumped out of bed and stopped her father from killing him. She got to take care of the pig and named him Wilbur. But Wilbur doesn't get to stay with Fern forever. Wilbur is a spring pig, which means he may never get to see snow. Instead, he'll be in the smoke house. :( With the help of a kind spider named Charlotte, he tries to find a way out of it. Charlotte starts weaving a web with a message on it: some pig. The excitement lasts about a day, and then basically goes away. Charlotte tries weaving more webs, but Charlotte's time is running out and words on a spider web can only do so much. Will Wilbur get to see snow? And will he get to live?
