More than anything in the world, Andrew wants freckles. His classmate Nicky has freckles -- they cover his face, his ears, and the whole back of his neck. (Once sitting behind him in class, Andrew counted eighty-six of them, and that was just a start!

One day after school, Andrew screws up enough courage to ask Nicky where he got his freckles. And, as luck would have it, who should overhear him but giggling, teasing Sharon (who makes frog faces at everybody!)

Sharon offers Andrew her secret freckle juice recipe -- for fifty cents.

That's a lot of money to Andrew -- five whole weeks allowance! He spends a sleepless night, torn between his desire for freckles and his reluctance to part with such a substantial sum of money. Finally, the freckles win, and Andrew decides to accept Sharon's offer.

After school, Andrew rushes home (with the recipe tucked into his shoe for safekeeping). He carefully begins to mix the strange combination of ingredients -- and immediately runs into some unforeseen problems.

How Andrew finally manages to achieve a temporary set of freckles -- and then isn't sure he really wants them -- makes a warm and hilarious story.

Loved this book! I first read this book in like third grade! I cant stay away from it! Once I finish, I start it again loved this book and totally recommend it!

If you "totally recommend it!", why didn't you rank it 5 stars?

so far it is a pretty good book. some parts are pretty funny and some parts are really funny. i would really recommend this book for people who like to laugh

What i thought about this book was that it was funny because the boy wanted freckels so he got a blue marker and he started to put dots on his face

If you are after a really short book, then read this one. This book was funny and teaches you to think wisely before doing stupid stuff.

this was a great book about a boy how wants freckles but i wouldn't go through that just to have something but it was a very good book for youngsters

Freckle Juice is a great book. Nick gets this secret recipe from one of his classmates but it doesn't really work. In the end he figures out that he should like just the way he already is.

It was ok. I didn’t get why Andrew trusted Sharon. If I were him I would not have trusted Sharon. I would not have traded with her.

It is about a boy named Andrew. He sits behind a boy named Nicky at school. Nicky has a lot of freckles and Andrew wishes he had freckles too. But what I didn't get was why Andrew gave Sharon 50¢ for the recipe for freckle juice if he didn't like her. But it's still a good book.

This book was stupendous! My favorite part was when the kid said "How do you get freckles?" and the other one says "I was born with them." Ha! Ha!

i loved Judy Blume books when i was younger and while reading this, i couldnt put the book down. its hilarious of how andrew wanted freckles soo bad that he had to give in 50cents for a "secret recipe" which lets you have freckles. i would recommend this book to kids any age because this is a hilarious page turner and i just loved it!
