The next person who compares Chloe Cho with famous violinist Abigail Yang is going to HEAR it. Chloe has just about had it with people not knowing the difference between someone who's Chinese, Japanese, or Korean. She's had it with people thinking that everything she does well -- getting good grades, winning first chair in the orchestra, et CETera -- are because she's ASIAN.
Of course, her own parents don't want to have anything to DO with their Korean background. Any time Chloe asks them a question they change the subject. They seem perfectly happy to be the only Asian family in town. It's only when Chloe's with her best friend, Shelly, that she doesn't feel like a total alien.
Then a new teacher comes to town: Ms. Lee. She's Korean American, and for the first time Chloe has a person to talk to who seems to understand completely. For Ms. Lee's class, Chloe finally gets to explore her family history. But what she unearths is light-years away from what she expected.

I did not like this book. Chloe Cho is the only Korean person in her small town. She is sick of people not knowing the difference between Chinese,Japanese, and Korean. Chloe is always asking her parents about her heritage but they always avoid talking about it. But when a new Korean teacher comes to her school she hopes that she will finally be able to find out who she is. But there is a surprise when Chloe finds out who she is and where she comes from. I do not recommend this book.

I like this book. I have 3 Korean friends, 8 Chinese friends, and 3 Japanese friends. The first time I saw my Korean friends I thought they were Chinese. But I try to notice the difference.

This book is about how no matter how ,is treated you are you matter!! People need to read this book to relize just how portent everybody in this world really is.

It is not a good book. It is a book for a baby. I hate fish. Thanks for reading my review. Sorry but I think it is really bad.

Sure she is different, but she isn't Japanese or Chinese... she is Korean! She is tired of first impressions, people saying that stuff is easy for her. And then the Korean American teacher comes in. But then Chloe unleashs something startling.

this book was very interesting because it was kind of mysterious and the plot was very good. i was kind of confused at one part but then i understood

Man I am in love with this

I'm not korean, I'm chinese but I bet this book would be a good book to read. Also, I hate it when people don't know the difference with Korean, Japanese Chinese, Taiwanese, or Vietnamese.

I know how you feel. I'm Taiwanese but people think it is China.
