A New York Times-Bestseller!
For twelve-year-old Emily, the best thing about moving to San Francisco is that it's the home city of her literary idol: Garrison Griswold, book publisher and creator of the online sensation Book Scavenger (a game where books are hidden in cities all over the country and clues to find them are revealed through puzzles). Upon her arrival, however, Emily learns that Griswold has been attacked and is now in a coma, and no one knows anything about the epic new game he had been poised to launch. Then Emily and her new friend James discover an odd book, which they come to believe is from Griswold himself, and might contain the only copy of his mysterious new game.
Racing against time, Emily and James rush from clue to clue, desperate to figure out the secret at the heart of Griswold's new game―before those who attacked Griswold come after them too.

When the famous author, who created a website/scavenger hunt similar to IDOGO is shot in a San Fransisco subway, he drops a strange copy of an Edgar Allan Poe short story. A new girl who just moved finds the book, and with her new friend, she tries to decipher it.
This book is AMAZING! In "Book Scavenger" Emily who moves into a house next to a boy named James who is a bit odd. When Emily and James find a mysterious book in a BART station and find a code inside their world turns. Emily and James think this book is the start of Garrison Griswold's new game. But they have two problems will anyone believe them and who are the two men following them? I love this book! P.S. Book Scavenger is a real game! I'm going to try hiding and finding books!
One of the best books ever!! It is amazing with its tale of traveling and how everything will still be ok. Fiction but realistic. Suspense but not to much. Love but not gushy. Amazing book for everyone on the planet.
This book is about an author who was walking to an appointment when 2 gentlemen got into his way. They asked him for the book he was working on. The author said they needed to be more specific. One of the men said that he is old and he doesn't hear right. The author got his walking stick and used it to hit him in the cheek. Right then one of the men shot the author and stole his book. The author got help though, but the thieves got away with it! Now they have to get the book back someway, but in the mean time it's going to be about Emily, a girl whose family is having an adventure of trying to live in every state of the U.S. They are moving to California. Emily once loved it, to experience new places. Then they were in traffic. When they finally arrived, they started claiming rooms of the new place they would live in. Later, they start talking about the author, who's name is Garrison Grisworld. When Emily heard that James met him, she was so surprised because she wanted to meet him real bad. Then James mentioned he didn't show up somewhere when he was suppose to. Then Emily got all worried, but then James told her that they just found out that he didn't disappear, he was in the hospital. Will Emily help Garrison Grisworld find the thieves that stole his book?
Amazing review, swirlycool!!
This was an amazing book. I did not leave my room until i was done reading, it was that good. the book was very exciting and a very interesting read
This is an amazing book! i first read it when I won it on DOGO. Emily's parents have a goal to live in all 50 states so Emily and her brother move around a lot. So when they move to San Francisco, Emily is a little excited because her favorite publisher Garrison Griswold ( who also invented her favorite game ) lives there. Then Mr. Griswold gets shot, and Emily finds a book that she thinks may be part of Mr. Griswold's newest game. With the help of her new friend James can Emily solve the puzzle before it's to late ?
To move to San Francisco was an amazing idea especially when that is where Griswold lives. However, after being attacked, the idol finds himself in coma. When Emily finds a book that might be a key to game, she discovers something......a key to her own idol, Griwold's newest game.
I really liked this book. I thought that the part when Emily's favorite publisher got into a coma was really sad. Thanks for reading my review. ~ Catface173
