"A strong . . . new trilogy, invoking just a little Harry Potter and Series of Unfortunate Events along the way."—Realms of Fantasy

Siblings Kate, Michael, and Emma have been in one orphanage after another for the last ten years, passed along like lost baggage.

Yet these unwanted children are more remarkable than they could possibly imagine. Ripped from their parents as babies, they are being protected from a horrible evil of devastating power, an evil they know nothing about.

Until now.

Before long, Kate, Michael, and Emma are on a journey through time to dangerous and secret corners of the world . . . a journey of allies and enemies, of magic and mayhem. And—if an ancient prophesy is true—what they do can change history, and it's up to them to set things right.

"Echoes of other popular fantasy series, from "Harry Potter" to the "Narnia" books, are easily found, but debut author Stephens has created a new and appealing read . . ."—School Library Journal, Starred Review

ME ME

i loved that book

Woah. The prologue is crazy suspenseful! John Stephens really did a great job of making the prologue well-written, and making sure the reader keeps reading. I can't wait to continue!

Siblings Kate, Michael, and Emma have been moved from orphanage to orphanage, but finally they end up in one at Cambridge Falls. When exploring the orphanage, they stumbled upon a hidden room with a book in it where all the pages were blank. When they accidently drop a photo into the book they were immediately transported into the past about fifteen years ago. They find themselves battling a countess who’s looking for the books of beginning which have been lost for hundreds of years but it turns out Kate, Michael, and Emma have one of them. I really liked this book. I hope that John Stephens (the author) writes a sequel to the Emerald Atlas. I can’t wait to know what happens next.

I got this as a free book from Barnes and Noble after I finished reading 8 books. It is a book full of magic and imagination. I love fantasy books filled with adventure. This is a book about three children's adventure through time. It is a very interesting book.

I really liked this book because the plot was very interesting. I'm already planning to read the second and third books in the series. And I hope that this author will write more books just like this. I liked Kate the best out of the three orphans.

I actually read this book a while ago, and I remember enjoying it, but I want to read it again because the plot sounds really interesting and it should be a really quick read.

This book is about three kids who have escape from evil. They have to live with other relatives who they never met that have to take care of them.

These three siblings have been in one orphanage after another for the last ten years, passed along like lost baggage. Yet these unwanted children are more remarkable than they could possibly imagine. Ripped from their parents as babies, they are being protected from a horrible evil of devastating power, an evil they know nothing about. Until now. Before long, Kate, Michael, and Emma are on a journey through time to dangerous and secret corners of the world...a journey of allies and enemies, of magic and mayhem. And—if an ancient prophesy is correct—what they do can change history, and it is up to them to set things right.

This book is about 3 girls, and they got separated from their family by a magical spell. 10 years later they don't know what stopped them from running back to their family, but they venture out to look for their missing (to them) relatives.
