It's time for ice skating, and Nikki's not happy. She's so cruddy on the ice, she can't even stand up! It doesn't help with snobby ice princess Mackenzie Hollister, commenting on Nikki's every move, even offering to get her crutches! Nikki's also trying to help Brandon raise money for Fuzzy Friends, by skating. Chloe and Zoey are helping Nikki, but it's so hard! Victoria Steel, Olympic medalist, is teaching them, and Nikki's trying to avoid her. She's also trying to distract her, so when she falls, she won't see. "Braking her leg", covering it up with duct tape, having Brandon take photos of her, Brianna giving her "Borrowed flowers". It comes the day of the competition, and of course, things go wrong. For instance, their sugar plum costumes are gone! It apparently looks like someone stole it. Someone that wears lip gloss, blond hair extensions . . . Until, Nikki and her BFFs get a note from Victoria, saying they found their costumes, in Area C, locker 17! They rush, and find no costumes! But suddenly, the door slams shut, and footsteps march away. Nikki and her BFFs are trapped, minutes before the show! Nikki and her BFFs decide to call their parents, but their phones are off. But, Nikki has an idea. She let Brianna play on HER phone, and that's why her phone isn't there. So they call, and ring, ring, ring, ring, BRIANNA picks up! Nikki quickly says for Brianna to pass the phone to Brandon, and tries to tell him where they are. But, seconds after, Chloe's battery dies. They wait minutes, and finally . . . BRANDON and BRIANNA unlock the door! Since there are no Sugar Plum costumes, they put on the clown ones, and go to skate. About halfway, Nikki falls, and she feels exhausted, and humiliated. That's when people start laughing! Clown's are supposed to be funny, DUH! And they were clowns, DUH! So, they start doing funky clown moves, and at the end . . . POP! A miniature Brianna comes out of the box! The crowd loves them, and of course. They end up winning! The money goes to Fuzzy Friends. Brandon gives Nikki beautiful roses for helping him, and SQUEEE!! A huge, big, hug!! Nikki's not sure if it's a friend-hug. More than friend hug. Or girlfriend hug. She'll have to find out!! This is a really good book! I totally recommend it!

In the fourth book of the New York Times bestselling series that’s as popular as it is dorky, Nikki Maxwell is determined to help out her crush!
Nikki Maxwell isn’t at all surprised to find out that her crush Brandon volunteers at a local animal shelter. He’s such a sweet guy—of course he wants to help those adorable puppies! Then Brandon tells her that the shelter is in danger of closing, and Nikki knows she can’t let that happen. Especially when she discovers a shocking secret about Brandon that makes keeping that shelter open more important than ever. So Nikki and her friends Chloe and Zoey enter an ice skating competition to help raise money for the shelter, but (big surprise) Mackenzie has to stick her nose in and cause trouble so that she can be the one to swoop in and save the day. No way will Nikki let that happen: She’ll just have to come up with some extra creative ideas this time!
