Book 16 of 18 in the  I Survived Series
Eleven-year-old John Hale has already survived one brutal Dakota winter, and now he's about to experience one of the deadliest blizzards in American history. The storm of 1888 was a monster, a frozen hurricane that slammed into America's midwest without warning. Within hours, America's prairie would be buried under ten feet of snow. Hundreds would be dead, thousands terrified and lost and freezing.

John never wanted to move to the wide-open prairie. He's a city kid, not a tough pioneer! But his inner strength is seriously tested when he finds himself trapped in the blinding snow, the wind like a giant crushing hammer, pounding him over and over again. Will John ever find his way home?

This book was very good .One of the best I survived book I ever read .Very interesting and exciting . I recommend this book to everyone that likes history and a good read .

The I survived Series is one of the series that even though I read it as a kid I still enjoy it today. I got this book from the DOGO advanced reading club and was very excited to read it along with my little siblings. This latest book in the series tells the story of the famous and deadly Children's Blizzard of 1888. The book was very good. It made me feel if I actually was in the blizzard iteself. I recommend it to anyone looking for an interesting historical fiction read that isn't too long.

Again, another amazing book to be in the titular "I Survived" series. This time, Lauren Tarshis brings us into the life of John Hale, an ordinary boy living in the Dakota Territory during 1888. He just moved to Dakota with his family so they could start a farm. As he makes friends in his small town, he learns of the terrifying things they have faced, like grasshoppers attacks and a deadly rattlesnake. But with the winter season coming, the blistering blizzards prove to be the worst. As John and his friends try to brave through the blizzard, it becomes difficult to tell if they will make it out alive. This book also comes with background information about the Children's Blizzard and life during the 1880s in US territories. This is a great historical fiction book that kids will love!

John Hale is about to experience one of the greatest blizzards in America, the Children's Blizzard. He lives in Dakota with his sister and his two parents. For now, all he can think about is how to kill King Rattler and live a normal life. That all changes when winter comes crashing in. Blizzard hits after blizzard, and it isn't the worst yet. One day during school, the biggest blizzard hits in a matter of minutes out of the blue. With John being stuck in a flimsy classroom, how will he survive? To find out, read this fantastic addition to Lauren Tarshis' bestselling series, I Survived, The Children;s Blizzard. This book is filled with unexpected twists and turns, and will be a great read for anyone who enjoys historic fiction.

I read this book to do a review and this is it: John Hale is an eleven year old boy who moved to Dakota Territory, and he isn't used to the rough Dakota winters. But when an early blizzard comes, he realizes just how deadly they can be. Finally, it stops, and everything seems fine, until one warm afternoon, a large storm cloud rumbles, and everything changes. Lauren Tarshis makes history fun, with twists and turns at every corner, and her 16th book is one amazing example of this! I seriously recommend this book, and i do to anyone and everyone!
