Magnus Chase has seen his share of trouble. Ever since that terrible night two years ago when his mother told him to run, he has lived alone on the streets of Boston, surviving by his wits, staying one step ahead of the police and truant officers.
One day, he's tracked down by an uncle he barely knows-a man his mother claimed was dangerous. Uncle Randolph tells him an impossible secret: Magnus is the son of a Norse god.
The Viking myths are true. The gods of Asgard are preparing for war. Trolls, giants, and worse monsters are stirring for doomsday. To prevent Ragnarok, Magnus must search the Nine Worlds for a weapon that has been lost for thousands of years.
When an attack by fire giants forces him to choose between his own safety and the lives of hundreds of innocents, Magnus makes a fatal decision.
Sometimes, the only way to start a new life is to die . . .

Magnus Chase! Really good so far!! Rick Riordan has created another amazing series! You'll become immersed in this new story and series... I really like it as of now, so any other Percy Jackson fans will enjoy it as well,

Another book by Rick Riordan, will be another book of more characters and fascinating adventures. The title and the book cover shows a unique and intriguing tale to be chased after under the umbrella of mythology, fantasy, action, and drama.

This book starts in Boston, MA with a homeless 16-yr-old named Magnus Chase. He has a family, but they don’t care about him until later, and Magnus already does not trust them, or any of his uncles, due to his mother telling him to not trust them. One day, a friend of Magnus, who is also homeless, tells Magnus to run because some bad people are chasing him. Instead of listening to him, he does the complete opposite, finding out who is after him. Apparently, his uncle Randolph finds Magnus and starts talking about an ancient sword, which is Magnus’s birthright. His uncle tells him that they are not the only ones who seek this sword, the Fire Giant is also looking for the sword to make it a part of doomsday. His uncle also tells him that he is a son of a Norse God. Will Magnus win this race to find the sword, or will the Fire Giant seal the fate of the whole world? To find out whether Magnus will choose his own safety or the lives of innocent people, read Magnus Chase and the Sword of Summer. I rate this book 5 stars and recommend it to anyone who loves to read mythology.

Rick Riordon has written another fascinating book series about polytheistic mythology. While being an enjoyable read, due to the fact that I have already read (and enjoyed) the Percy Jackson book series, I feel as if this novel is very (if not too) similar to the Percy Jackson books.

Another one of Rick Riordan's great accomplishments! Meet magnus chase; Smart-ish. Funny. And dead. Not really. Follow Magnus and his journey through Norse Mythology! ( Plus Magnus is related to Annabeth Chase from PJO and HOO)

This is such a great start to a book series. It was so cool find out that Annabeth has a cousin that is tangled up with another branch of gods. It also hints there might be a giant crossover book with a lot of different gods from different cultures, that is something I'd really want to read.
