An amazing sequel to another great novel; however, was a bit of a disappointment. The seriousness of the situation the protagonist faces I feel wasn't stressed enough, and I felt the addition of new characters that arouse from past Games were only there to give Suzanne a way to talk about the past Games without making Catching Fire sound like a list of facts. However, I think Suzanne did a wonderful job helping us better understand the main character and her actions and thoughts, all the while creating an exciting story that will fully enthrall you. To sum up, a definite read!
Reading it right now so far its great😀
This book is amazing!!!
so good and eye catching perfect sequal
Suzanne Collins is able to add on to a great book
I really want to read this book because I absolutely loved the first one. I have heard from many people that this one is also extremely good. The book I want to read most is this one ; )
Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark are on the Victory Tour while uprisings are occurring in many districts. After coming back to District 12, Katniss learns from two runaways from District 8 that there are rumors that the supposedly destroyed District 13 is actually inhabited. When the 75th Hunger Games announce that the tributes for that year will be winners from past Games, Katniss and Peeta are forced to fight again. While in the arena, they make alliances, but after an escape attempt goes wrong and destroys the arena, Katniss is carried off to District 13 while Peeta is kidnapped by the Capitol. An incredible book, which I liked, although not as much as the first one.
I think that Katniss must have amazing self control not to go burn the capitol to the floor. They promised her not to ever have to go back, and she is chosen for the quarter quell. But I love the large alliance and the escape from the arena.
It's been tough for Katniss. She is a victor of the Hunger Games, the deadly event that is held every year to maintain the peace among Panem. She is supposedly in love with Peeta Mellark, the boy with the bread. Her life is constantly changing, peacekeepers showing up at her door, her family in a even higher rate of dying, and even her own hunting partner changing up their relationship completely. Nothing seems to go her way, and the Capitol makes it even harder. She's going back to the games. Against all odds, the annual Quarter Quell states that the 75th annual Hunger Games is the game to return 24 victors back into the games. And obviously, being the only girl from District Twelve, Katniss is going back. While battling human eating monkeys, other tributes and her hatred for President Snow, Katniss must realize her importance to the games. Those berries that were held out in the last games were the start of a rebellion. She isn't just the girl on fire, she's the face of the rebellion. And the Capitol doesn't want that happening. Thrilling, gruesome and excitement that's unleashed with the flip of a page, Catching Fire exceeds the power of The Hunger Games in every way. It's the start of something much more, and it will get that fire burning up inside of you. You are now truly. . . CATCHING FIRE!
