Discover the origins of the warrior Clans in the third book of this thrilling prequel arc from mega-bestselling author Erin Hunter. The Dawn of the Clans series takes readers back to the earliest days of the Clans, when the cats first settled in the forest and began to forge the Warrior code.

The rivalry between Gray Wing and Clear Sky has driven a bitter wedge between the forest cats. As Thunder and Gray Wing struggle to find a peaceful path for the future, tensions are growing. What began as a misunderstanding between two brothers has spread far and wide—and now every mountain cat, rogue, and kittypet in the forest will be forced to pick a side.

Dawn of the Clans #3: The First Battle also contains an exclusive bonus scene and a teaser to Dawn of the Clans #4: The Blazing Star.

This is about Clear Sky, Gray Wing, and many other mountain cats and rogues fighting against each other. The battle takes place at Fourtrees, which later becomes a sacred place. After Clear Sky nearly kills Gray Wing, the battle ends and Fourtrees becomes neutral territory, where battles must not be fought.

This is a really good book. It has a lot of action and basically makes the cats seem human, like they have consciences and real emotions and can actually plan attacks, etc. I really like the plot, because it has a lot of suspense and foreshadowing that makes the reader excited to read ahead. The thing I didn't really like about the book was that it became kind of boring towards the end, because everything was mostly the same - the descriptions of the cats, their thoughts, mostly everything! The author also left a bit of a cliffhanger at the end so readers would read the next book. I would recommend this series to grade 4-6 kids as it will be very interesting for them to read about cats.

I LOVED the first and second book. I can't wait to read this.
