I think the article is saying that lots of people are not really...just there for the actual game. But there are other reasons. For example, some watch just the halftime show, some just want a nice family reunion. And that Americans really love football, and also just want to watch the Super Bowl. Also, some people like their team, like the Patriots and the Falcons.
