There's this pig, and when it's born, the man who owns it decides to kill it. But the man's daughter stops her dad, and decides to take of the pig herself. Eventually, the girl has to give the pig away. But she gives it away to her uncle who's a farmer (or something), so she can visit it whenever she wants. Sometime later, a spider shows up and the pig befriends the spider. Soon it's apparent that the farmer wants to kill the pig so his family can eat it. So, the spider decides to prevent the pig from being killed and eaten. What I thought of it: For one thing, I didn't understand why the humans were so silly. They thought the pig was really great (for no reason at all), but they didn't think twice about the spider. I guess the objective was for them to love the pig so it wouldn't be killed, but it still didn't make much sense to me. That was my main problem with it. But I don't like books about animals, so I didn't really like it anyway. Overall, I appreciated it, but I didn't really like it.

I read this book in second grade I think. It was amazing!

I loved this book because it is a classic book. It is about a baby pig who was tiny when it was born , a girl rescued it and took care of him like he was a baby. Once the pig was a little grown the girl took him to a barn where he is desperate for friends.

I love this book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This book was fantastic and expressing good personalities and was descriptive enough for the details
