With over one million copies sold, this series of modern classics about the charming Penderwick family from National Book Award winner and New York Times bestseller Jeanne Birdsall is perfect for fans of Noel Streatfeild and Edward Eager.

This summer the Penderwick sisters have a wonderful surprise: a holiday on the grounds of a beautiful estate called Arundel. Soon they are busy discovering the summertime magic of Arundel’s sprawling gardens, treasure-filled attic, tame rabbits, and the cook who makes the best gingerbread in Massachusetts. But the best discovery of all is Jeffrey Tifton, son of Arundel’s owner, who quickly proves to be the perfect companion for their adventures.

The icy-hearted Mrs. Tifton is not as pleased with the Penderwicks as Jeffrey is, though, and warns the new friends to stay out of trouble. Which, of course, they will—won’t they? One thing’s for sure: it will be a summer the Penderwicks will never forget.

Deliciously nostalgic and quaintly witty, this is a story as breezy and carefree as a summer day.

When the four Penderwick sisters spend the summer with their absent-minded father at the Arundel estate, they meet Jeffrey Tifton, the owner's son. When their summer adventures drive Jeffrey's mother to threaten him with military school, the sisters hatch a plan to keep him at Arundel. The Penderwicks is perfect for fans of Half Magic.

I think this book was ok. Could be way better. Just my opinion but u might like the book. Thanks for taking time to read or approve this review

This is such a good book. I inhaled it. It has just the right amount of humor, and the characters are so real! There's Rosalind, who's always practical and responsible, unless Cagney is around, Skye, who's a feisty hothead, Jane, who's a dreamy aspiring author, and of course Batty who won't go anywhere without her butterfly wings. They go to Arundel for their summer vacation and befriend a boy named Jeffrey.

This is a really, really, really good book! if you like adventures, fiction, or even summer, than you will like this super awesome, amazing book.

Batty, Jane, Skye, and Rosalind are four sisters who are spending their summer at a cottage on an estate in the country. Along the trip they meet new friends (animal and human), make long-lasting relationships, and help a lonely boy find a family. This book was AWESOME!

Summer is valuable to everyone, sisters, fathers, and hound dogs all alike. So when the Penderwicks can't rent their regular summer home this year, they decide to find a new one, which brings many exciting adventures. They meet a nice boy named Jeffrey, who becomes their best friend, and face many troubles together, such as non-social bulls, runaway rabbits, and military boarding schools. But these very different sisters will always find a way to save the day, and have the best summer of their lives. No complaints, this book will make you wish your summer was this fun!
