I love this whole series, but this one really stands out to me, because instead of going on vacation like the family does in most books, this one is set on their home street. The Penderwicks aunt has decided that it is time for Mr. Penderwick to start dating and maybe even find a new wife, though nothing could replace the late Mrs. Penderwick. The sisters agree that this is a horrible idea, and they set up a Save-Daddy-Plan, which involves finding terrible ladies for their dad to date, so that he never finds a new wife. It is working, until Mr. Penderwick starts sneaking away on "dates" which really means reading a book about love late at night sitting in his car. This fools the girls, until they realize that he is actually in love with their next-door neighboor. They decide that she would actually make a wonderful mother, and they get married in the end. So sweet, I loved the whole story!!

The Penderwick sisters are home on Gardam Street and ready for an adventure! But the adventure they get isn’t quite what they had in mind. Mr. Penderwick’s sister has decided it’s time for him to start dating—and the girls know that can only mean one thing: disaster. Enter the Save-Daddy Plan—a plot so brilliant, so bold, so funny, that only the Penderwick girls could have come up with it. It’s high jinks, big laughs, and loads of family warmth as the Penderwicks triumphantly return.

This is an excellent book, written by Jeanne Birdsall. In this book The Penderwicks are back from thier vacation at the cottage and from Jeffery, back to thier home on Gardam Street. So when Aunt Claire's news that thier mother who passed away wants thier father to start dating is told, everyone is shocked. But each sister has a different thing to worry about to. Rosalind is annoyed at thier neighbor Tommy, who suddenly seems to have changed so,so much. And Jane and Skye are in much more trouble than they thought when they switch homework assignments. But when a kind neighbor starts to help out, the sisters start to have a new plan... Read the book to find out! I gave this book 5 stars because it was well paced and thought out, but also funny. Hope you enjoy this book! Happy Reading!
In the fall after the Penderwick family's wild vacation, their dear Aunt Claire comes to visit, unfortunately with something terrible to say. Oldest sister Rosalind is especially devastated by this news and comes up with a "Save Daddy Plan".
This is a great book!
This book, as well as the entire series, is amazing to read! To me, the family of the Penderwicks seems to, not only learn themselves, but guide the readers through their journey of life. As the Penderwicks, Batty, Rosalind, Jane, and Skye, all work to save their father from the world of dating, their humor and wit spin a very funny and interesting tale. The story is also around family, and the strong bonds between them all as they find a way to come to an agreement as a whole. The readers can also sense the different opinions of various ages, as well as the responsibility and part that each Penderwick is in the family. This book is fantastic, and definitely should be read by anyone! :)
I have not finished this book yet but it is amazing. Everything you want in a book.
A fantastic series! I loved this book especially, because the characters were great and I loved the little humored parts, as well as the sad and happy parts. A great book!

This is the BEST BOOK EVER!!!!!! This funny, entertaining book with all of your favorite characters presents new and exciting challenges. Then they realize their new neighbors, (or spying partner, in Batty's case) Ben and Ientha, might be exactly what they need... an addition to the family.:)
this book is entertaining, funny and sad.
